Totally finish crown mouldings them after you paint the
ceilings.
Painting Tips:
Its
easier to cut the crown moulding into the ceiling and its easier to cut
the wall into the crown moulding after its finished. When painting the
ceiling I usually don't worry about hitting the crown mouldings with
ceiling paint. I do, however, ALWAYS feather or brush out any possible
excess that may get onto any surface. Nothing worse than looking at
dried sags or drips on something. Always brush out things after you
paint.
When painting the crown near the wall I usually don't
worry if I hit the wall a bit with the crown moulding paint. My
concerns
are always overlapping paint as I move down the room so it "fills in
the
gaps" as I go. Yes, I caulk first but, most importantly, I also want to
paint over the
caulking and seams. I make a trench sort-of-speak for the next colour
to fit into.
Painting seams makes a way nicer look then trying to be exact in the
crack that isn't perfect to begin with. This method applies to all my
brush work on trim or edges of different colour shemes.
Now that I've shared that gem of a tip, you still
need a steady hand so hold off on the coffee when your cutting the
lines (smile). This is the trick to brushing straight lines without
tape.
Tape
or spray shields suck compared to and even flow from a flowing brush
line. A
steady hand, the right viscosity and the type of brush is how I do it.

| | PAINTING Guys Random Testimonial |
| | A.J. Sanson Posted: | Dear Chris,
I cannot tell you enough how it was a great opportunity meeting you and working with you. The most important thing that stood out with Chris' was his INCREDIBLE work ethic. He is incredibly meticulous and goes above and beyond all other painters that I have spoken to and worked with in the past.
He speaks of painting with so much passion and pride. It is very rare to meet individuals who are so driven to exceed his customers' expectations.
He pays so much attention to detail and is more than willing to explain these details to his customers. With this knowledge, you learn to better appreciate his work and compare his "high quality" painting job to others.
Not only is Chris a top notch painter, he is also a terrific person! He is one of the most genuine & nicest individuals I have ever met. When my fiancee and I purchase our next home, Chris is certainly to be the first and only person I would consider for the job. He is the best at what he does, hands down!
All the best!
