Apprenticed using and, to this day highly recommend Benjamin Moore
paint for the depth and choice of colours, ease to apply their paints
(creamy smooth) and other "professional reasons" that relate to more in
depth quality painting topics you will read about within this web sites
evolution. A master guitarist can still make music on a "Box Store"
(Sears, Walmart etc) guitar but give the artist a quality instrument
and you will hear the difference. Paint is the same. A lot of paints
are more water and gritty (behr) fillers than actual colour. Contractor
lines and budget brand paints end up looking like chalk in time. You
get what you pay for. Don't be fooled by shinny labels or the box store
hype. Also, a lot of contractors use particular products because they
are cheaply priced which keeps their quotes more competitive. Cheap
paints are thinner and easier to "spray" but not necessarily the best
for the clients best interest.
Benjamin Moore is top quality and recommended by thousands of interior
designers. They have three lines. I always use their top line and with
that comes an awesome finish and warranty. It also has less Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and for me this
means a healthy life for us all.
